Developing a Writing Habit

Writers, give yourselves a break. Stop putting so much pressure on yourselves to be perfect. Not writing for a day won’t destroy your writing career. Just do your best and be proud that you’re even trying because most people aren’t. Don’t neglect your own self-care, it matters—Alexander Pennington, @Authoralexp.

Developing a writing habit is significantly essential for becoming consistent in blogging life, work, and hobby as well.

Remember, writing comes from the inside. Whatever you write, just do it from your own voice. It brings a distinct flavor and a flow to your book, and you’ll also love doing it every day without any hassle.

Consider a few of these steps and write freely:

  • Find the right environment: silence, music, distractions, no distractions?
  • Make a writing soundtrack, if music works for you.
  • Don’t edit as you go.
  • Look at your goals, and write accordingly.
  • Make a cup of coffee or an energy booster.
  • Set one writing task.
  • Outline the post and write headlines.
  • Take out 30 minutes every day for ‘pure’ writing.
  • Write from your inside.
  • Shut down all the social distractions.

Everyone has different schedules and routines.

You have to set aside writing hours for regular writing. No one can do it for you better than you.

Don’t wait for another day to start writing. Just do it now. Take out a notebook and set an hour for writing. Pick one step and follow it.
