E-books to Audio Books

audiobooks

It took me a while to follow the ebook trend. Now, I’m being nudged into audiobooks, much to my dismay. I already have a monumental task of retyping my four previously published books that I wrote under the pseudonym, Peyton Mathie.

Somewhere along the line, maybe during the move fifteen years ago, I lost my backup CD’s where all my manuscripts were stored. Since I’m not happy with the printing done by my former publishing company, as they printed a B&W book in blue tones, I need to retitle and resubmit to my current publisher, which is KDP.

For that reason, I purchased the Dragon software, which I read the manuscript or book, and the software types it up for me. Doing so has made me realize that I’m not as articulate as I thought I was. And that my voice seems to come across nasal and tinny. However, I don’t have the money to pay for a voiceover, so here I go on a new journey.

Angela Grey is an Indigenous novelist, poet, and painter whose work explores the intersections of memory, identity, and healing. She, formerly an architectural drafter, studied creative writing, as well as spirituality and healing, at the University of Minnesota, where she deepened her commitment to storytelling as both an art and a form of medicine. Alongside her writing, Angela finds balance in yoga and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), which shape the reflective quality of her work. She lives in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, with her husband, one spirited pup, and four cats. When she’s not writing, she enjoys camping, budget travel to places like Maine, Oregon, and the coastal Carolinas, and gathering with family around a BBQ grill.
